M8A:  AVIATION COMMANDS (U.S. AIR FORCE)

1st Fighter Wing
The official page of the 1st Fighter Wing, flying F-15Cs from Langley AFB.

4th Fighter Wing
The home of the 4th Fighter Wing, flying F-15Es from Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.

7th Bomb Wing
The 7th Bomb Wing flies B-1Bs out of Dyess AFB, TX.

8th Fighter Wing
The F-16Cs of the mighty "Wolfpack" are based at Kunsan AB, South Korea.

9th Reconnaissance Wing
The 9th Recon Wing has a long tradition in the strategic reconnaissance business. They currently fly U-2s and are based at Beale AFB, CA.

12th Tactical Fighter Wing
This site celebrates the 12th TFW (1962-1971), which saw extensive action in SEA. This is a phenomenal resource, with extensive wing historical documents, photos, articles, and a reprint of the F-4C/D flight manual.

31st Fighter Wing
Based at Aviano AB, Italy, the 31st includes two squadrons of F-16Cs.

49th Fighter Wing
The 49th is the USAF's only operator of F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighters. They are based at Holloman AFB, NM.

52nd Fighter Wing
Based at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, the 52nd flies a number of different tactical aircraft, including F-16Cs, F-15Cs, and A-10s.

57th Wing/Nellis AFB
The 57th at Nellis runs all flying operations around Nellis, including RED FLAG and the USAF Weapons School.

355th Wing
Based at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, the 355th flies and trains aircrews in the O/A-10.

366th Wing
The 366th is the USAF's Air Expeditionary Wing, a tremendously versatile composite organization that includes F-15Cs, F-15Es, F-16Cs, B-1Bs, and KC-135s.

VA-145 "Swordsmen"
Steve Beals put together this site devoted to Attack Squadron 145, which flew various sorts of Navy attack aircraft from its establishment in 1952 to its disestablishment in 1993. Includes a squadron history, details on the attack mission, aircraft specifications, and much more!

VAQ-129 "Vikings"
The EA-6B RAG, based at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington.

VX-1 "Pioneers"
VX-1 is the air test and evaluation squadron for the Navy's ASW aircraft, including S-3s, P-3s, and SH-60s.
