Traditionally, carrier aircraft with side numbers ending in "00" are designated "CAG aircraft" -- nominally the personal mount of the air wing commander, and often bearing special paint schemes. J. Sakurai snapped these great photos of some of the CAG aircraft of CVW-5, during a recent open house at NAF Atsugi, Japan. Visit Mr. Sakurai's CVW-5 page for more examples of his photography.

NF 300 - CAG F/A-18C from VFA-192, "The World Famous Golden Dragons."

NF 100 - CAG F-14A from VF-154 "Black Knights."

NF 400 - CAG F/A-18C from VFA-195, "The Dambusters." This spectacularly painted aircraft is affectionately titled Chippy Ho!, after the squadron's unofficial motto. (VFA-195 aircraft operate under the tactical callsign Chippy.)
