Links that don't particularly fit well into a more specific category.

Abandoned Site
An old, abandoned WWW Site. Visit and explore.

All Your Base Are Belong to Us
Somebody set up us the bomb.

AltaVista's Babel Fish
The original web-based translator-bot.

DejaNews Research Service (now "Google Groups")
Provides an archive of Usenet posts and posters, and allows you to search for that elusive article that your server dumped some weeks ago. Also provides Usenet poster profile, which is useful.  Now operated by Google.

The Dilbert Zone
Home of Dilbert and Dogbert.

Evil Overlord List
"The Top 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became an Evil Overlord."  A wonderfully useful professional resource, compiled and maintained by Peter Anspach.

Fark.com
Unfortunately, one of the sites that I visit most often.  News of the weird, clipped 24 hours a day.

Google
Hardly needs to be listed here, but this list doesn't feel complete without including the single most useful site on the Internet.

Mercury Center
Online headquarters of the San Jose Mercury News, newspaper of the Silicon Valley.

News.com
C|Net's breaking news page, notable for its technology coverage. Generally the second stop I make in the morning to find out what is going on.

The Onion
Your weekly source for all sorts of silliness.

Rotten Tomatoes
Great big metareview site for current films.  For those of you who don't have time to see a lot of movies, reading a whole pile of neatly categorized movie reviews is a time-efficient way to pretend that you do.

Salon.com
Generally has pretty good tech and society content, although I find almost all of their political coverage to be annoyingly shrill.  Also, their personal ads appear to be slowly taking over the Internet.  Still, an enjoyable read.

SlangSite.com
An online guide to all kinds of slang.  Includes user submissions, so there is some particular weirdness to be found here.

Slate
Another favorite web magazine.  Dahlia Lithwick's "jurisprudence" column in particular is usually quite good.

The Stalker's Home Page
Glen L. Roberts's provocative online privacy site.

Yahoo! Maps
Routinely used by me to avoid getting lost.
